No, I neglected to mention that I am probably stronger in ruby than javascript. I'm not a developer, and occasionally hack at php to customize someone elses code. I've done some bits of php and perl from scratch, so rails is probably closer to syntax I'm familiar with than javascript.
Regardless, I'll take a look at datepicker and try to get a basic understanding of what is going on. BTW, I see jquery javascript in public/javascript, and in under vendor/plugins/hobo-jquery/jquery/ javascript. Any hints on the relationship & where I should focus?
