link eg <a to="www.google.com"/>

In this case, *I'm* the one feeling dumb - I forgot that to= doesn't
do the same magic as if= and repeat=, where non-& strings are
interpreted as calls to methods on 'this'; this code:
<a to="&this.previous_record>Prev</a>
Will do what it's supposed to...
BTW, to= actually takes a record object, and generates a link to it
(if you've got the appropriate permisson), To link to a URL, just use
the standard href= parameter.
