Actually I'm using an account that is really hosted at www.penguinhost.net and I think that the advertisement page for them is www.penguinhost.com I know that they have PostGreSQL and MySQL installed on my CPanel as well as RubyOnRails. I may have signed up through a "reseller" though. I won't make that mistake again. I'm very happy so far with the quality. Perhaps that will change...we'll see.

You'll want to ask what variety the prepackaged Rails solution is (FastCGI vs. Mongrel vs. Passenger), as it may affect how much fiddling the configuration takes. In any case, Hobo is just another gem as far as Rails is concerned, so you shouldn't have any problems. BTW - out of curiosity, I tried to scout out some documentation for you, but I couldn't quite figure out which host you meant. I found penguinhosting.net, which fits part of the description (they support Postgres, but don't mention Rails) and penguinwebhosting.com, which fits all the rest (but doesn't support Postgres, at least according to their site). The former seems like a pretty lightweight host; you'll typically want to avoid running Rails on shared hosting, as performance will be terrible. The latter, on the other hand, smells downright scammy. It appears to be a thinly veiled doppelganger (the only change is the header color!) of advancednetworkhosts.com - which has something of a negative reputation from a few years back. A sample: http://www.ahfb2000.com/webmaster_help_desk/showthread.php?t=3662 In any case, whether they're really penguinwebhosting.com or advancednetworkhosts.com, the link to the "Knowledgebase" on either site is broken. That's where you'd typically want to look for specific technical details of the Rails installation.
