Hi,

I was on W7 but changed to Ubuntu just because I was missing a good shell. Development on W7 worked OK though.

I use Netbeans since 2 years ago and I love it. Just disable the syntax verification on each DRYML file and you will be OK. In order for Netbeans not to crash, I needed to install Sun's JVM (open Java was not OK).

Hope it helps,
  TF

driving me nuts. I'd like to switch to something better but since I'm
using ubuntu as a necessary evil (never liked linux for being counter-
intuitive and a pain to operate) I'm not familiar with GNOME software
for rails/hobo. I do not own a Mac since low-end mac cost more than my
uber-turbo msi entertainment notebook and I simply cant afford
anything after the stone age. Windows development of rails has proven
to be very unstable for me (rails crashed like every 3 min or less)

So... I'm stuck with ubuntu 10.04 GNOME 32 bit Desktop :(

What I need from an editor is:
1. Stability - I cant afford to have it crashing in the middle of my
work
2. Syntax highlighting for rails 2.3.X and Hobo
3. I need it to be contained within one app and NOT that every open
file pops up another instance of the editor like gedit and I end up
with a task-bar mess.
4. Code completion would be a plus

Any suggestion on the above ?
