I was the poster, and I ended up with messy code in my view.  Sad, but true.  
But its not really *that* messy - it just looks like rails code, and it works.  
 I think the thing I like best about Hobo is that in cases like this I can fall 
back on Rails and perhaps come back to the problem after I've learned some more 
about Hobo.
