I hate being a pain in the *, but since my beta tester got me going on
the login page, I decided to do more testing myself.
On a brand new website, setup for Invite Only, No guest pages, etc. I
setup two users, (me and a dummy - yeah, yeah ;-) ). Logged out and
started from scratch with a blank login page. Pressed the Forgot
Password link, got the Give Me Your Email Address page. Filled in
properly and pressed Send. The email went out OK. Copied the link from
the email to browser. Got the Change Your Password page, filled in
appropriately and pressed Reset Password button.
Was returned to the Login Page (at some time in the distant past, when I
tried something like this, I was logged in at this point, see test
below, too).
Entered email and *new *password.
Got *"You did not provide a valid Email address and Password!"*
Definitely unexpected.
Entered email and *OLD *password.
Got:
Blue flash: *You have logged in.*
In body:
*That operation is not allowed
Exception:
#<Hobo::PermissionDeniedError: Hobo::PermissionDeniedError>
params:
{"action"=>"reset_password", "id"=>"2-dummy_d_dummy",
"controller"=>"users"}*
I was *successfully *logged in.
This is the same as I got on my main website in my initial test, but
that site is so complicated, I could have readily screwed something up
during development.
It appears that this problem has something to do with either the
Invite-only or No Guest conditions. I setup a standard website and I
can successfully change the password via Forgot Password and it logs me
in correctly right after the Reset Password page.
As an aside, earlier today I posted about the Remember Me button which
appeared to do nothing. It works as expected on the standard (not
Invite-only, Guest users accepted) website.
