I think I've broken the cookbook. :(

One user had contributed large quantities of spam in the guise of
recipes. I couldn't find any real contributions from that user, so I
deleted the user, assuming there'd be a ":dependent => :destroy" to
get rid of the dozens and dozens of spam postings, rather than having
to delete each posting, individually (for each posting, select
posting, edit posting, select delete and then confirm deletion for
each posting, versus one action to delete the user and the
confirmation action).

Unfortunately, immediately afterwards the index has failed - you can
go to specific recipes (e.g. if found in Google), but you can't get an
index.

I think I exceeded my powers... or at least my knowledge of how the
system works. Very sorry about that. :(
