I decided to give the beta of Ubuntu 12.10 a try and ran into the following
problem when doing a bundle install or bundle update on an existing project
using hobo from git. Note the bolded and highlighted undefined symbol:
SSLv2_method. After a bit of googling around I found this posting
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8206546/undefined-symbol-sslv2-method
apparently OpenSSL
is being built by Conical without SSLv2 support due to security concerns.
I'm going to see if I can find a workaround for this but I thought I'd pass
it on if anyone else runs across the same problem. I don't know what needs
to change to move off of SSLv2 to SSLv3 but perhaps if I can install
an earlier version of openssl I can get around the problem for now.
Using dryml (1.4.0.pre9) from git://github.com/tablatom/hobo (at master)
with native extensions
Gem::Installer::ExtensionBuildError: ERROR: Failed to build gem native
extension.
