CKEditor is fairly orthoganol to Hobo, so it should work. How to add it will have changed substantially though because of the asset pipeline added to Rails 3.1.
Try this https://github.com/adaline/rails3-ckeditor, following their installation instructions. But instead of their Usage instructions, follow the remainder of the Hobo 1.3 instructions.
