No, there's not :). A InstantHobo script is very convenient for
Linux/Debian based users.

But I still think vagrant is valuable because it allows anyone (Windows,
Linux, Mac) to use the same recipes in a testable and reproducible
environment.

Have you tried http://hobocentral.net/tutorials/two-minutes? I tested it
some time ago in Ubuntu 12.04 and it used to work, though it might be
obsolete now.

That's not true, I'm afraid. The ruby versions available in these
operative systems change a lot between them and between versions, making
it very hard to make a script that works for all.
