Thanks to Omur!

But I would use better Ubuntu, cause I haven't a MAC.

Also my Dexktop-Barebon isn't fast enough. So I try to use a mini-PC with a
Atom-Processor as a Linux Server only for may Hobo-Projects.

What do you think about it?

And why I have to use RVM, if I want to use this configuration (versions) the
next 5 year (if its sable)?

Warm Regards

hobo-gem after rais-install possible (error!)

PS. For development, I am using Kubuntu not Ubuntu. The reason is Kubuntu
desktop is Mac like unlike the Ubuntu UI for geeks.

Hi Torsten,

Use Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

Latest long term release will be actively supported for the next 5 years. If
you are deploying to cloud (eg Heroku, Rackspace, Amazon, etc) then this what
your servers will be using anyway. Thus your development env reflects server
environment.

VirtualBox is fine as it delivers you a high performance desktop to use as your
usual machine.

Learn how to use RVM as soon as possible https://rvm.io/rvm/install .
Create an RVM environment for hobo.
Write a Gemfile that lists proper ruby, hobo and rails versions. And
        $ bundle install

Understand RVM and you will be replicating a proper dev environment anywhere by
just a single command 'bundle install'
