Hi everyone,

A big HELLO! to everyone who knows me. For those that don’t (it’s been a
while!) I’m the original developer of Hobo.

I’ve got to say it’s wonderful to see Hobo going strong and the group still
active. A really nice feeling.

I stepped back from working on Hobo a few years ago to work on a different
project, the idea for which was in fact triggered by a post right here in
Hobo Users, by Paul Howson, who I see is still here : )

The project shares some DNA with Hobo, as you’ll see if you check it out,
but is also very different.

I’ve been working on this in private for a few years (turned out to be a
lot harder than I expected!) but today I’ve put up a website to show what
I’m doing so I can see what the response is like. I’d love the project to
be open source, but I think it needs funding, so first I want to figure out
my options. I’m not just throwing it out there this time. It’s only a
show-and-tell website for now.

The site has only gone up just now. I thought you folks might be interested.

The site might be a bit too high level for people here (there’s not much
detail on how it all works) but I’d be interested to know what you think
anyway.

Thanks!

Tom
