Ref: 10206/CE Applications are invited for a research assistant post as part of CHI+MED (http://www.chi-med.ac.uk/). CHI+MED is a major EPSRC funded multidisciplinary research programme across 4 universities that aims to improve the usability and safety of interactive medical devices. The post is based at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London under the supervision of Dr Paul Curzon (http://www.dcs.qmul.ac.uk/~pc/) of Queen Mary and Prof Ann Blandford (http://www.uclic.ucl.ac.uk/people/a.blandford/) of UCL Interaction Centre. The focus will be on reducing the incidence of human error. The research includes the construction and testing of formal models of situated behaviour, building on existing theories such as Distributed Cognition and the findings of empirical studies, development of verification methods and tools, completion of case studies and writing up of results.
