You mean that they subscribe by sending the subscribe email? And then 
they should be pending cuz you run a restricted group? That is strange...
I never had this problem on my groups as far as I know of.
I think you should write to Yahoo about it. You should be able to find 
that option through "management" at your group site,and there 
"management help"
A while ago posts on Buddhist healing did not get through for days and 
days and I corresponded with them. I kept getting automated replies that 
my complaint was not possible, but after about 2 days I had an email 
from Yahoo to inform me that they were working on the problem and about 
one and a half day later it was fixed and all the posts of about 4 days 
appeared in the next hour :-)
It took about 10 emails from me to get them working on it.

It is hard, but not impossible to communicate with them. And obviously 
sometimes a feature on one particular group can get jammed and has to be 
fixed by them.
