Hi ts,

Enjoyed reading your adventures in the wood
very much :-)

They mean disable
I should imagine.

It would be rather unreasonable to uninstall
one piece of software to install another . . .

So I don't think you have to do that

The Surge RTE (the Curl plug in)
and the Curl language is innovative
whether it catches the mainstream
is dependent on many factors . . .

It is stable and powerful.

From a programmers perspective
it is supposedly similar to Lisp (I do not
have the experience to confirm or deny this)
for me it seems obvious and similar to
well structured languages.

It is most similar to Java
but is both simpler and more elegant.

Languages such as Java and its
MS clone .NET require
a Virtual Machine (or plug in)
that has snippets of code that
are called (or accessed) by any program.

This is why you need the Curl plug in to
run CurlChat which is written in the Curl language

The .NET 'plug in' is about 80 meg or more
and they will be building it in to WIndows Longhorn

They are using marketing muscle to force it
down everyones throat.

The idea really is to 'rent out' code/programs (that is their
long term aim)

So you do not buy your WP - you lease it . . .

The next chat which is themed around Time Travel
is on Wednesday 12am GMT
12am GMT = 1pm UK
8am US Eastern Daylight Savings Time
5am in the US Pacific

Friday at 12am the theme is 'safe computing'

I would like to see you on the Wed one
and know you have good ideas on safety :-)

Hope that is of some help
