Tut mir leid, Francis...

I got WinME on my PC. So I guess Skype will not run at all (or not stable) on my system.
The other requirements (processorspeed, RAM etc) are OK with my PC.
So I guess I better find another program for 'telephony'.

Harmen.

From http://www.skype.com/help_userguide.html:
Minimum System Requirements:
  • PC running Windows 2000 or XP
  • 400 MHz processor
  • 128 MB RAM
  • 10 MB free disk space on your hard drive
  • Sound Card, speakers and microphone

On the ProjeX list I recently spoke of  Ogg Speex and TeamSpeak.
There are some other open source audioconferencing tools here:

* Robust Audio Tool (no speex support though), works with multicast

http://www-mice.cs.ucl.ac.uk/multimedia/software/rat/

* GnomeMeeting + OpenMCU server
(speaks H.323 and Speex, Netmeeting can use Speex as well:

http://www.gnomemeeting.org/i
http://www.openh323.org/code.html
http://xmeeting.sourceforge.net/

If you don't mind proprietary and like something easy: I found out
that Skype now (since february!) supports conferencing features -
although with a max of 5 participants.
Skype supports Linux and Windows as well as pocketpc - no MacOS yet.
With PocketSkype you can use the skypenetwork within range of a 802.11
wifi or gsm network and a wifi capable or gsm pocketpc/wm2003 pda.
There is also Zmeeting if you use linux on a pda:
http://zsi2.stonekeep.com/index.php?v=d&a=696 if you want to connect
to H.323 audio/video conferences.
