Don't know about the gutter part, but some of us are definitely looking at the stars - especially the shooting ones.

The Southern Delta Aquarid meteor shower will be appearing in 2004 from
July 12 to August 19 and will peak on July 28.

The meteors will appear to come from a point in the constellation of
Aquarius. Under ideal conditions its possible to see 20 meteors an hour
and their average speed is 41 kilometers per second.

The Southern Delta Aquarids will be best seen after the first quarter Moon
sets well after midnight.

The closest bright star is naturally enough Delta Aquarii.
