Hi.
A minor mystery - can anyone explain why i was able to
connect with Trillian via dsl but with no other apps?
That is to say that our other computer was infected
with whatever had infected the new laptop and i have
not been able to get online at all using the dsl
connection EXCEPT with Trillian - which does not help
with downloading updated antivir software, etc... The
dsl does not connect with IE, nor with aol nor juno
nor ICQ nor anything else, except Trillian. The
firewall shows ENORMOUS amounts of hits, both incoming
and outgoing. This packet flooding may be the cause of
the inability to connnect, but why would Trillian be
immune?
I need to update the antivir, and download FireFox and
a new firewall and new spyware blockers, but the
computer is basically a paperweight at this time.
Also cannot connect via aol on this one, as well.
Lizzie can only use her computer for a short time
before she needs to reformat and reinstall the os to
get it running again... But i was able to get sygate
on it for her and she signed up for the McAfee
protection through aol (for $3.00 a month), so she has
both that and avg.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
