Mozilla have a language called XUL
which I rather liked - from what I remember it is a type of XML HXML (which is being created by Dreamweaver) is a type of XML
(it is strictly typed - lower case etc)

Dreamweaver is wonderful. I am really impressed with the Macromedia products.

Would XUL be pronounced like zool i wonder?

Do you think they will ever settle on a standard? Friedger pointed out that iframes are not XTML strict...

You know, all if this is part of why i like Curl as a coding language. It is well structured, elegant, spare, object oriented and fairly standard. To me, it seems the only extent to which it is not standard is the different release versions out there.

that would be quite specialised but may be of interest . .

A specialised sort of effect

Compression is a compromise

Sometimes you can get away with a larger image
by loading it on faster preceding page (giving it a 0 by 0 size)
It will then be in cache.

Clever. Very smart way to do it.

Another way is to have a tag on a poor image and then click to enlarge
the href is then linked directly to a higher quality image or to
a minimal HTML page with some formatting and a larger image.

Hadn't thought of this. Thanks for the hints, always useful.

The best program for compressing images is fireworks (which you have)
right click on an image in dreamweaver then select optimise in fireworks
you will be provided with many options

Fireworks is impressive and fun.

Fun is important. Life is short!

- sorry did not make curlchat

No problem.  Even though no one else was there, a good time was had by all.

love and peace,

PS - Tonight i discovered that someone had reset my AOL password since this morning. It had been the same password for more than 2 years!

A hint for people - if this happens to you, aol will ask three questions so you can get back in. If they ask for the last four digits of the credit card number used for billing AND if you KNOW that you did not use a credit card, but charged it to your phone number or bank account, try typing in the last four digits of whichever one you used. Worked for me.

love and peace,

joyce

PS - Get out and vote on Tuesday! And if you're not an American, vote anyway. They're letting the dead people's votes count, so why not yours!
