looks to be Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolio)

i grow them here ...
beautiful flowers.
people also use the dried *cone* in dired 
plant arragements.

a valuable herb ...
i use it in combo with golden seal this time of
year [flu season] to bolster the immune system.
but i understand it loses it's effectiveness
if used longer than 6 weeks.
well ...
that's what i heard ...
which means it is hearsay. ;)
but that is how i use it ...
for prevention ...
or if i do feel the symptoms coming on.
haven't had colds or flu for many years
so guess i will continue.
