request for help/input Lob has this area reserved for our retreat: http://sourceryforge.org/w/Elements_of_Peace minor problem ... they want to evict us! the message from admin: The contents of this wiki should be intelligible to all its users. This article is a candidate for deletion as it is poorly formatted. Also I don't understand the grammer, let alone the content. This article appears to describe an event, but no proper explanation is made. If this aritcle is not fixed it will be removed. Date of removal: 2004 Dec 08 so come one come all ... and discuss/format/contribute Discuss this at Talk:Elements of Peace. http://sourceryforge.org/w/Talk:Elements_of_Peace the discussion thus far: ~~~ All forms of goodwill welcome seems to me Wiki is about "grass roots" ... not something micromangaged from top down ... but something that grows from bottom up. along these lines: "Instead of the game being developed by a game corporation, it would be developed by multiple users donating time in sort of a wiki style," said Ludlow, a philosophy professor at the University of Michigan. "This is a different picture, one in which the games would emerge in a bottom-up kind of way. The structure wouldn't be dictated, but would emerge from numerous people trying to extend the game space." we have the place ... Wiki have planted a few seeds and are gathering more ... and all that is needed is a little time to germinate them ... provide the seedlings with nutrients ... and allow them to grow towards the light however they will. what we don't need is for someone to rip them out by the roots before we get a chance to poke their heads up. just my take. so ... what exaclty does management require? please be specific ... "The contents of this wiki should be intelligible to all its users." is itself unintelligible. we ask for your guidance and assistance ... -ts- ~~~ User:Elseware: Fair enough. What I want is proper grammer, and an explanation of what "Elements of Peace" is. I have no idea what you guys are taling about. What I object to is that I and other users are in fact excluded from this as there is no clear explanation of what the text means. I understand it may be a work in progress, but then some covering text explaining it is in order. My concern is that people visiting this site for the first time look at some random pages, decide the entire site is full of nonsense and leave, never to return. You are advertising an event with dates, but no location. Maybe it's online? you don't say. I support the exchange of views and ideas different to my own. It's how you learn and expand. But this does not represent effective communication. It does not use proper grammer and is not even properly marked up in the wiki. Your text reads like it's an in-joke. That has no place on a site intended to expand peoples ideas, it is unwelcoming and cliquey. I know I'm being harsh, but I've read all your texts and some other sites, and there's no adequate explanation anywhere. It's all very pretentious. I assume you guys have read "The cat that Walks through Walls" and "The Number of the Beast" by Robert Heinlein? If not, you really should. They are some of my favorite books and cover similar ideas. ~~~ so we could use some help ... as i am off for an extended weekend ... and may not be back until the 8th. maybe we can put off the landlord for a few daze, eh? it will be what we make it guess ... sorta, kind like Life, eh? ;) thanks. -ts- --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], Know Mystery <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Lob <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello Everyone, > > > > >Hi Lobster and All - > >You asked about Portobello mushrooms. I hope people if they are inclined have a try with that recipe. I'm sorry it ended up looking like a spam mail! Because i am not supposed to use yahoo mail from the office, i decided to use the emailer within that webpage to send it, and then i could use their little message box window - so no yahoo mail access appears on the snoop ware logs... Just a minor form of civil disobedience on my part! > > > > I was working on a simplified wiki > when this appeared (see below) > > Perhaps acceptability can be gnerated? > http://sourceryforge.org/w/Elements_of_Peace > > > > Disconcerting to read what they wrote. I wonder, do you suppose it is the same person (who needs to get a life) who is flitting about from wiki to wiki with too much time on his hands, unnecessarily criticizing other people's work? > > Anyway, this weekend will try to add some intelligibility of the sort that editor can understand... unless someone else does it first. > > > > Happy Friday to all, > > love and peace, > > joyce > > PS - Steve, thanks for the post with your portobello mushroom information.
