Yup, in my experience multihoming simply doesn't work on a variety of levels.   
One of the ways in which it doesn't work is that the DHCP protocol doesn't 
really account for it.   We kind of assume that a single DHCP server will be 
responsible for all prefixes that are advertised on the wire.   We could come 
up with a way for two DHCP servers to elect a responsible server, or we could 
decide to expand DHCP to support multiple servers.   I suspect the former 
solution is easier than the latter.
