Two that could be used independently (separately) or possibly even together. E.g., the following seems entirely reasonable:

        iPad connected as a host

        iPhone as the router gatewayed to 3G
        verizon box as the router gatewayed to DSL

However, the idea of USB as sneakernet is like a stone and chisel already.

I agree in principal, but how do you get your Verizon router to join
ahomenet then? It has no UI!

I'll remember that next time I login using the iPad to alter its config ;-)

If we support this configuration, it means
that we have no protection against unintentional router pairing. I don't
think that's acceptable.

I could upload files to the verizon box over WiFi as I do right now for other files (including firmware updates).
