The charter of the dnssd WG is "to develop a solution for extended, scalable
DNS-SD." The charter mentions routed networks several times, implying that any
solution enveloped by the WG must be applicable to a routed network.

The use of TRILL and RBridges for the WG DNS-SD solution has been discussed at
length on the mailing list. Technically, this solution is not within the WG
charter, as it implies a single L2 domain with no routing. Pragmatically, the
solution is undeployable, as it would require a complete reorganization of
existing networks to solve the DNS-SD problem.

Therefore, TRILL/RBridges is out of scope for the dnssd WG, and will not be
further discussed on the dnssd WG mailing list.
