To put it in a single sentence, I think what you are saying is that in a 
homenet, a mesh is treated as a single link, and whatever magic is required to 
make it work is invisible to the routing protocol.

Of course, I should point out that if this is the case, then we have to make 
sure that the routing protocol will be able to use this "link" as transit.   :)
