hello,
First of all, I'm sorry about my english and my computer level.
I'm trying to configure a honeywall on a vmware using the vmware server. For
the moment it doesn't work. I'll try to study a little more about network
configuration and probably I will ask you soon about it.
Anyway, while I was looking for my error, I looked at the menu on the
honeywall, at "honeywall configuration", at "mode and ip information". When I
was there, I went to "external bridge interface" and try to confirm eth0 (or
internal bridge interface to confirm eth1) it appeared the message "invalid
NIC".
I'll try too look for this message in google and I found
http://www.honeynet.org/svn/honeywall/trunk/rpm-devel/roo-base/src/dlg/config/ModeConfig.sh
Then I saw that there was a function called hw_isvalidnic used to decide if a
nic is valid or not. This function is at /etc/rc.d/init.d/hwfuncs.sub
If I try
$cat proc/net/dev | tail +3
I get the following error:
tail: cannot open '+3' for reading: No such file or directory
Does the option "+3" exists in tail or it had to be "-3"? What is the target of
this option?
Thanks and best regards!
