I would think it should be possible. The only issue may be that some
of the scripts expect certain environment variables to be set which
are handled by the roo-base rpm. However, I think it would be really
cool to be able to install your own base OS and do either yum install
honeywall or apt-get install honeywall.
I am currently working on the next version of the honeywall which
integrates hflow2 (http://www.cs.indiana.edu/~cviecco/oscode/
hflow2.html). After this, I was thinking about making a package that
would install the honeywall components on an already installed system.
Is this something folks would be interested in?
