The only single Bb horn I have played, and the only one I have seen used extensively here in England was the Paxman single Bb with A/stopping valve. This usually has an F extension on the A valve with a rotary switch. The one I tried was a lovely instrument, light, responsive but ultimately not for me because as a freelance and not knowing what part I might be offered, I needed a full double.
