Here are a few composers and some of their works that our college band has
played in the last several years. (Mostly grade 3-4?)

Percy Grainger-Molly on the Shore, Shepherd's Hey etc.(great folksong arranger!)

Timothy Mahr-Mountain Prayers
Eric Whitacre-October

Samuel Hazo-Perthshire Majesty

Frescobaldi's Toccata arr.by Earl Slocum

Holsinger-On a Hymnsong of Phillip Bliss(wonderful opening and closing horn
solos!)

Frank Ticheli-Shenandoah(absolutely stunning arrangement!) He's also written
Cajun Folksongs I & II

All these composers/ arrangers I have listed have other worthwhile pieces that
are readily available. I discovered "October" by Whitacre when visiting
SheetMusicPlus.com. You can listen to sample recordings of a select few band
pieces online.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
