It is precisely this ability which led a doctor friend of mine to express
the view that playing a wind instrument is dangerous insofar as it enables
one to pass medical tests with ease thus maybe masking possible problems.

I know when I was given an asthma test involving blowing down a tube I blew
the end off it. Fortunately my doctor knew me and, throwing the device over
her shoulder commented, "Well that was a waste of time wasn't it". She had
to do other tests.

Cheers,

Lawrence
