I was intrigued by your question, because my brain automatically associates
Maurer with "Three Pieces." So, I checked my iTunes, and I have two
versions of it. One, by the Center City Brass, is definitely called "Three
Pieces," but I also have the Philip Jones recording, which contains "Four
Pieces." Philip Jones's version includes a scherzo second movement that is
the missing link from what Center City played, and the version with which I
am familiar, the rest of the movements being the same.
Not sure how you feel about not playing that scherzo, but the only place I
searched (hickeys.com), sells "Three Pieces."
