Astonishing the excellent technique demonstrated in this nicely arranged collage. But .... all sounds the same. Not the four player by one person, but the dynamic is indifferent. No color change the whole piece, no crescendi, no expression, just played. and the sound is really rather thin and powerless. When he played the conductor he must have had a completely different piece on the music stand. Yeah, the ringing mobile is a gag, typical, but better avoided.
The young man has great potentials, but missed the musical point of the piece. IF he will receive the appropriate guidance, he can make a very successful career. But not this way. Anyway, his courage must be applauded to. And the effort he put into this production must be applauded also. ##################################################################### Am 15.05.2010 um 02:07 schrieb Bill Gross: > An rather interesting view of the Conzertstucke > > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPZegCKihcM > > > > John Turman Plays Schumann: Conzertstucke for Four Horns and Orchestra > <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPZegCKihcM> > www.youtube.com > > So this is my fall 2009 project, it took me a while but it was so much fun! > This is one of my favorite pieces and I hope y'all enjoy it!
