Thanks Daniel---Luca Benucci, thinks it is either Ugo Favaro, or
Natalina , see below. (So, Natalina is a man?) If you can ask,
please do--tell them there is a jazz horn player in Seattle, who was
'hipped' to this solo by a Swiss alphorn/jazz trumpet player in the
late 90s, who LOVES it. Anyone else out there who has played this
solo? (Please, please, let's talk about this or anything else, other
than you-know-what) The 1996 London Records version, w. Mauceri,
really beautiful.

And--and, from facebook: Luca Benucci, Horn:
Ciao ...... Could Be Ugo Favaro or Natalino Ricciardo... They both terrific!!'

The principal horn there is Natalino Ricciardo since a number of years
( http://www.teatroregio.torino.it/node/56 )
but I don't know if he was playing in that recording. I could ask
(should I?)
