I played 1st horn in a performance of Pines last month.  By all means get a 
recording and follow it with the 1st horn part (at least), as Jonathan West 
suggested.  All the horn parts are demanding as regards range, and there are 
some tricky rhythmic patterns.  It's a fun piece, however, and a real crowd 
pleaser!
