Hey Steve-O
WAKEY WAKEY!!!
Here's a one-question pop quiz for you to start the day:
_________________________________________________________
Have you heard of the new definition of ASSUME?
No? Well, it means...ASS-U-ME translates into "Makes an A** of U and Me"
_________________________________________________________
BAAAAAA-AAAH!
More to the point, WHOA! Who would have thought to interject a PIANO into
Britten's offstage Epilogue. I think an accordion or even an entire POLKA BAND
might do better for this and grant the audience a bit of variety (and wake them
up at the end as well after the Sonnet....)
But in the interests of being completely thorough, do you not have some more
words of wisdom on "Lo A Rose e'er Blooming?
I personally would do the entire thing on tabla with a hornplayer standing in
the wings in case I lose my place. How's about it?
Back to my train of thought; reading your scintillating commentaries on the
Britten Serenade-not that David Thompson needed any sort of remedial assistance
whatsoever from your corner of the peanut gallery evoked the kind of feelings
normally reserved for facing up to the school bully in the back lot after
school.
David, shows a lot more restraint than I do-It would be regrettable, should he
take a precious 20 minutes out of his practice routine in order to grant you
the consideration of a correctional response.
Oh yes, I was wondering, just how do I do the 'bent note' stopping whilst
holding a Program Note from God in my right hand?
Or is it the left hand? (that's my iPhone hand, by the way)
Anyhow, I just wanted to cheer you up and let you know, your friends haven't
forgotten you. Rather, I haven't forgotten you, not after that little incident
at Redwood Symphony a few years back. (you really scared the horn section that
day)
I rather miss our little post-orchestra spats - er CHATS.
I almost forgot..You're invited to these two concerts from the upcoming season
of Bay Area Rainbow Symphony.
