Hi John, I think you're asking some good questions for a young hornist. I would like to offer you a bit of advice. Depending upon which school of Music you're going to attend, I would contact you future Horn Prof. and ask if has any particular kind of horn he/she perfers their students to play on. It's too bad you weren't able to attend an IHS Symposium where you could meander into the "loud" room and play as many different kinds of horns as your heart desires. You may also want to ask yourself "Do I really need a triple"? Especially when a college education is so very expensive. Most of the literature you will study will lend itself well to a double, a triple would be to put it in car terms like driving a Ferreri when a Chevy will do just as well.
My opinion, that and a couple of bucks will buy me a coffee at Starbucks :) Good luck in school, Walt Lewis Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
