Well, since it's so quiet . . . I've been puzzling over the valve slide arrangement on my Mirafone single Bb. It has an A/stopping valve with the 'H' leg, but that's not the question. The slide on the first valve (full step, index finger) is reversed male/female, i.e., the "inside" part is on the body of the horn and the "outside" is on the slide. The other three slides are normal. Did any other makers do this, and why?
