Mention of Thea Musgrave's Horn Concerto with its spatial effects [also in her Clarinet Concerto] jolted loose a memory of hearing the premiere of Jan Bach's Horn Concerto at the ASOL conference in Chicago, June 1983.
Wonderful piece, superbly played. I seem to recall that the section hornists joined the soloist at the front of the stage at the end. Could anybody confirm this?
