Hi list! In "La technique journalière du Corniste" by Pierre Levet on page 26 it says: "Autre Grand Arpège (d'après Rossini)".
I'm wondering what Rossini would have to do with these arpeggios? I asked my teacher who gave me the book and he doesn't have a clue neither. For those who don't know the book, the first line goes like this (notation as in The Horn Call: http://www.public.asu.edu/~jqerics/octave.htm): F A c f a c' f' a' c'' bb' g' e' c' bb g f c A F and then continues chromatically upwards. The only thing I could imagine is that a singer also could warm up like that.
