I don't have as much as experience as many of you, because of the 33 years I didn't play horn. But in contrast to this discussion, I've had only one creepy conductor, back in my college days. He was Austrian born and spoke with an accent so thick, hardly anyone could understand a word he said. But... when he got angry, his phoney accent gave way as he cursed and ranted in perfect "American" English.
Other than the embouchure problems I had in college, I'm sure this experience contributed to my decision to change my major. I'm sure lurking in the back of my mind was the thought: if they're all like this I sure don't want to spend the rest of my life trying to please them. Most of the other conductors I've had were highly capable yet down-to-earth, honest folks doing their very best... and most were quite likable. -- Valerie Wells The Balanced Embouchure Method http://bebabe.wordpress.com/ http://www.beforhorn.blogspot.com/ _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
