Hi Dan, now I remember that you wrote about this project. It's very interesting to look at those famous players and their so different playing settings. But I thought there were recordings, which I can't find. You should correct the first name of Mr. Bianchini, which should be "Giuseppe" (the Italian for Joseph), not Giuseppi or Giusepi. Apart from that, I never heard about him and wonder how he got interviewed. Surely there were in Florence more representative players at that time, first of all my first teacher Pasqualino Rossi, principal horn of the Orchestra del Maggio. This was and is the main orchestra here, while the "Orchestra di Palazzo Pitti" must have been a provisional group, gathered for some summer concert in the garden of the Medici's palace. All the best wishes to everybody for the new year, Daniel Canarutto mathematical physicist & dedicated amateur hornist http://www.dma.unifi.it/~canarutto/ http://www.corno.it/ _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
