Dear Fellow Horn Players,
Please allow me this opportunity to invite you to the Northeast Horn
Festival at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, March 18-20, 2011.
I'm planning a unique and fun event to celebrate our noble and beautiful
instrument with the emphasis on ensemble and historic performances.
Featured artists are Hermann Baumann, Lowell Greer, Bernhard Scully and Genghis
Barbie with many supporting artists TBA. Our special guest is Dick Martz who
is bringing his entire, magnificent collection of horns. There will be solo
and horn quartet competitions for middle/high school and collegiate
participants. All participants who register in advance will have the
opportunity to play in an ensemble, coached by a professional, and perform on
the
final concert if they so choose. We will schedule three master classes with
Professors Baumann, Greer and Scully. I anticipate having an interesting
array of vendors displaying all things horn. I guarantee that this will be an
event to remember!
