The Hornstick might be a good solution for my 14 year old student who was
born without a right arm. (She plays with perfect intonation, by the way).
She is getting big enough now that supporting the bell on the leg can be
awkward, but she can't really elevate the horn as I do when I play.

As for the right hand use, my young pupil's example has convinced me that we
perfect hornists (in the medical sense of having complete body parts) may
rely too much on the right hand for intonation control, and possibly overuse
it to modify the tone too. She may be at a disadvantage in the future when
it comes to hand stopping ability, but maybe with a prosthesis and a brass
stopping mute she could fare pretty well.

You should see my student flip the horn around to drain the water from it.
It's amazing, but it terrifies me sometimes. I often offer to "give her a
hand", and she appreciates the joke.

Hello friends:
I used to support my horn on the leg. I have tried many times to play off
the leg with not success. I always felt that my sound change very much.
After I got a Hornstick I could play off he leg, got the same sensation of
supporting the instrument on my leg, and the sound did not change.
Also the projection off the sound improved.
The Hornstick is a very useful tool for my playing.

Maybe you could ask some of your satisfied customers to write in as well...I
am glad that your item is being sold by Paxman of London but to increase
sales you need to get the information and endorsements on the Hornstick out
to potential customers and make it easy to purchase..
Just a thought

Regards, Francis
