Valerie,
Years ago when my sister lost a slide from her horn (yes yes), I
contacted Bob Osmun to see what could be done. He gave me the
information of a supplier who had the necessary pieces.  They had to
be assembled to fit her horn, but it all worked. I would suggest your
friend contact a reputable repair shop to see what can be done to
replace missing parts and fix the other problems.
