The Dalley Horn Catalogue - CD has very little to say about the Nocturne. It

is one of 11 pieces, Opus 35 that Gliere wrote for various solo instruments
( Violin, Clarinet, Flute, Horn, Oboe, Cello) Two of the pieces: Intermezzo
and Nocturne are for horn and piano. Written about 1880. I think that they
may have been for students at the conservatory of music in Moscow. Regards.
