as a horn player and medical professional, you might be laid up a week
or two, tops. Unless of course it was more complicated than a simple
appendectomy. it's a small incision and low enough it shouldn't bother
your breathing. I was only out a week and then was able to continue
   playing. Good Luck

     Hey all:
So, busy life I've been leading and I've been dealt another issue. I
     had my
appendix taken out this week. When I had my gall bladder removed, it
     was off
season and I just didn't play for a month or so, but I'm wondering
     if
anybody has had any experience with this and what the recovery
     process
horn-playing-wise was. As always, I know mileage may very and I will
     keep in
contact with my medical professionals to monitor my actual recovery.
     Just
wanting to get a bench mark here.
     Thanks!
