The new Lewis Dürk LDx7 is a Schmidt style double with a thumb rotor type
switch mounted on the piston for a more traditional change valve feel. The
change valve piston can be inverted to  either to F or Bb standing. It is still
a little awkward to hold but not impossible (I have small/medium hands and have
been playing Lewis Geyer style horns for the past 28 years) but the open sound
is wonderful and I am looking forward to a longer test next week. I know that
Dürk will be in SF for those lucky enough to be free at that time - our season
still has a month to run!
