Hi All---looking forward to going down to IHS San Francisco tomorrow. I'll be giving a talk (jazz phrasing, time) Wed. morning at 9, playing that eve., after Andrew Clark's set, at 7:30, and on Thursday at 1 pm, hosting an open reading of a multi-horn version of the Gil Evans/Miles Davis version of Kurt Weill's "My Ship" (was originally with Willie Ruff and Tony Miranda) , and other multi-horn jazz works, as well. Bring your horn! Here is a link to the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReSHIIrIx1g&feature=related
Will be great to see many old and new friends. And, to my surprise, I now have many older LP's and CD's out on itunes and amazon download, wanted to let you young folks know, in case those shiny CD's are too old-fashioned for you. My newest one, "Heaven and Hell," is still only a 'normal' cd. But at Amazon and OmniTone. All the best, and see some of you tomorrow! Towson, Potsdam, Athens, Bloomington, and now... ----Tom V -- Tom Varner www.tomvarnermusic.com _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
