No, Ralph, you are jumping to the wrong conclusions.  I'm not "slagging off
professionals."  I'm just encouraging folks to keep an open mind to new &
different things regardless of the source.  One never knows where a helpful
idea will come from... even from a tuba player or a humble trumpet teacher!

Well said, Ralph.  But I wouldn't go so far as to say such 'naturals' "can't
accommodate any" helpful analysis.  I believe everyone can learn to be a
better teacher if they are open minded and willing to learn from others. Oft
times solutions to challenging playing problems can only come from those who
have struggled and triumphed with creative, innovative techniques that would
never occur to a 'natural' because he's never experienced such struggles.
This is not to imply that 'naturals' don't work their tails off to get there
they are, but they just haven't had certain experiences to teach them.
