>Valerie, the bottom line is, an always will be: What Works For You.<

Exactly, Martin. We are in perfect agreement. BE is NOT a prescribed
embouchure. It is a system, a set of exercises, that helps guide the player
find what does work best for him.

>I won't buy any more Horn books as I have tons already.<

Why should you? You have great chops.

>Would it be possible for you to reveal one thing in your book that students
(or
maybe even pros) could try? If they did and it positively improved their
playing, I'm sure they would rush to buy your book asp. <

I appreciate your suggestions, but there are a few things you need to know:

(1) It's not MY book. The BE book was written by Jeff Smiley. I only
adapted the exercises for horn and enjoy promoting it.
(2) Both Jeff Smiley and I have revealed quite a bit about BE on my blog and
elsewhere. It's Jeff Smiley's property and I don't have the right to give
it away. Besides that, the BE system is greater than the sum of it's
parts. Simply experimenting with one or two techniques as some have doesn't
even come close to what the whole system can do.
(3) Neither Jeff Smiley nor I have any interest in any HUGE mass marketing
campaign. Our goal is to see BE succeed, one brass player at a time. If
hundreds of horn players bought the BE book at once, I wouldn't be able to
help them. I like it the way it is, one at a time.

> Good luck. <

Thanks, Marty. I'm happy with the progress I've seen so far promoting BE.

Have we thoroughly worn out this topic, yet? ha ha ha!
